Here are some recipes which Jacky and I have been using over the years and found them easy to make and tasty to eat. Some of the recipes have no photos at the moment but I will add some to the text when we next make the dishes.
Many of the dishes have no measurements for the ingredients. This is not intentional it is just the way we cook! We use a lot of leftovers as we are not the kind to waste food. I think this was instilled in us from our parents who had to endure rationing during the war. Having said that, they appear to be more wasteful than us these days!
It stands to reason that most the produce we use is fresh and organic (A good proportion of the vegetables comes from our own garden.) And we are great believers in free range meat or, preferably, wild meat. Rabbit, wood pigeon, Canada goose, pheasant and deer are often found on our table. You can’t get more free range than these! Some I shoot myself with a BSA Superten or are bartered from a shooter at work. (It’s hard to bring down a goose or a deer with an air rifle!) I’m trying to persuade Jacky that we should eat the snails we find in our garden but she hasn’t come round to the idea yet!
